Nissan NV200 Compact Cargo Models and NV200 Compact Cargo History
First appearing in the United States as a smaller companion to the full-sized NV commercial van in 2013, the Nissan NV200 Compact Cargo van projected itself as a solution for smaller businesses or urban-oriented fleets. Marketed as a compact commercial van in North America, Nissan actually extended the overall length of the NV200 by 7.9 inches compared to the models offered in other countries. Accommodating up to 122.7 cubic feet of cargo room, the interior area of the Nissan NV200 Compact Cargo van could be accessed with 180-degree opening rear doors or standard dual side sliding doors. A 131-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine matched with a Xtronic continuously variable transmission allowed small cargo van to achieve 24 miles per gallon through combined city and highway driving (increased to 25 miles per gallon in 2015). Providing fleets a technological edge, NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Apps premiered as available equipment in 2015. Several minor upgrades were incorporated with the 2017 NV200 Compact Cargo van such as standard power doors locks and Hill Start Assist. Body-color matching bumpers and a chrome grille were also added to the SV trim version of the Nissan NV200.
