Optional Features

The Accent sedan is available with a Premium package that includes cruise control, premium cloth seats, chrome inside door handles, piano black interior trim, Bluetooth connectivity, steering wheel audio controls, sliding front armrest, fog lights, 4-wheel disc brakes, and P195/50R16 tires on alloy wheels. Under the Hood

The 2013 Hyundai Accent comes with one engine and a choice of two transmissions. The engine is a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder that produces 138 horsepower and 123 lb.-ft. of torque. Transmission choices are a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. All Accents have front-wheel drive.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the 2013 Hyundai Accent includes dual front air bags, front-seat side air bags, curtain side air bags, anti-lock brakes with brake assist, traction control, electronic stability control, and a tire-pressure monitor.

In government crash tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Hyundai Accent received an overall rating of 4 (out of 5) stars for frontal, side, and rollover crash protection. However, NHTSA notes the interior door panel struck the rear passenger in the side-impact test, which leads to a higher likelihood of thoracic injury. In tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Accent received an "Acceptable" rating in the side-impact crash test, and "Good" ratings--the Institute's highest--in the moderate overlap front, roof strength, and rear-seat crash protection tests.
