Despite the news of the departures of two premium nameplates, Hyundai's 2017 model lineup is vibrant highlighted by a new model introduction. Created as a dedicated product for electrified motoring, the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq vehicle range will feature a conventional hybrid, plug-in hybrid and a fully electric powertrain. A six-speed dual-clutch transmission will be incorporated with the hybrid and plug-in hybrid version of the Ioniq hatchback. The all-electric Hyundai Ioniq is slated to have a travel distance of 110 miles. Hyundai's popular compact car, the Elantra, receives a complete redesign for 2017. A progression from the elegant previous generation model, the 2017 Hyundai Elantra's new styling is supported by a lighter but stronger structure made possible through the increased use of high strength steel. Crossovers Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport models gain a significant 2017 upgrade. Among changes to the two Hyundai crossovers are a new front end design, revised alloy wheels, standard five-inch LCD display audio screen and added available safety equipment. The Sonata line, Accent, Veloster, Tucson and Azera return with mild to moderate updates in 2017.
