2013 Subaru Model Overview


Subaru expands its model lineup for 2013, adding the new BRZ sports car and the XV Crosstrek crossover SUV to dealer showrooms. The Subaru Legacy and Outback models are refreshed for the 2013 model year, while the Forester and Impreza gain several new standard features. The Tribeca SUV is pared down to a single trim level for 2013, adding standard equipment in the process, and Subaru makes no changes to its performance-oriented WRX and WRX STI models.

2013 Subaru BRZ


The 2013 Subaru BRZ is a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive sports car equipped with 2+2 seating and a 200-horsepower, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder "boxer" engine. Premium and Touring trim levels are available. The BRZ was co-developed with Toyota Motor Corp., which sells its version as the FT-86 in global markets and as the Scion FR-S in the United States.

2013 Subaru Forester

The 2013 Subaru Forester is a compact, 5-passenger crossover SUV offered in 2.5X and turbocharged 2.5XT model series. The Forester 2.5X comes in base, Premium, Limited, and Touring trim levels, while the 2.5XT is offered in Limited and Touring trim. All Foresters are equipped with all-wheel drive as standard equipment, and most Foresters carry 63 cubic feet of cargo with the rear seat folded down.

2013 Subaru Impreza

The 2013 Subaru Impreza is a compact, 5-passenger sedan or 5-door hatchback equipped with standard all-wheel drive. A 2.0-liter "boxer" 4-cylinder engine is the only choice, and all Impreza models are badged with a "2.0i" designation. Sedans are sold in base, Premium and Limited trim levels, while hatchbacks are offered in Sport Premium and Sport Limited trim. Fold the hatchback's rear seats, and the Impreza can carry 52.4 cubic feet of cargo.

2013 Subaru Legacy

The 2013 Subaru Legacy is a 5-passenger midsize sedan equipped with standard all-wheel drive. The Legacy receives a significant mid-life update for 2013, adding a more powerful and fuel-efficient standard 4-cylinder engine, modified mechanicals, new standard features, and an optional EyeSight safety system. The Legacy is sold in 2.5i and 3.6R model series with a choice of base, Premium and Limited trim levels, depending on the series.

2013 Subaru Outback

The 2013 Subaru Outback is a midsize crossover SUV based on the Subaru Legacy sedan. Like the Legacy, the Outback is substantially updated for 2013, adding a new 4-cylinder engine with extra power and fuel economy, new CVT for that 4-cylinder engine, revised styling, new EyeSight suite of safety features, and more. The Outback is equipped with standard all-wheel drive. Models with a 4-cylinder engine are designated the 2.5i, while models with a 6-cylinder engine are designated the 3.6R. Base, Premium and Limited trim levels are offered, and the Outback can carry up to 71.3 cubic feet of cargo with the rear seats folded down.

2013 Subaru Tribeca

Subaru whittles the Tribeca lineup down to a single trim for the 2013 model year, the 3.6R Limited. The Tribeca is a midsize crossover SUV equipped with a standard 3.6-liter "boxer" 6-cylinder engine and 7-passenger seating, and adds standard equipment as a result of the condensed model lineup.

2013 Subaru WRX

The 2013 Subaru WRX is a performance-tuned variant of the previous-generation Subaru Impreza. When the Impreza was redesigned for 2012, Subaru split the WRX apart from the Impreza lineup, and it is now considered a separate model line. The WRX is offered in 5-passenger sedan and 5-door hatchback body styles, in base, Premium, Limited, STI Premium, and STI Limited trim levels. Models with the STI designation add significant performance upgrades over the standard WRX.

2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek

The 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek is a 5-passenger crossover SUV based on the Subaru Impreza hatchback. It replaces the former Impreza Outback Sport model in the lineup, and adds SUV design cues and extra ground clearance compared to the Impreza. Premium and Limited trim levels are offered, each equipped with standard all-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder "boxer" engine generating 148 horsepower. Maximum cargo capacity measures 51.9 cubic feet.
