Top-Rated Coupes in the 2015 Quality Award

The annual J.D. Power Initial Quality StudySM (IQS) analyzes survey responses from thousands of vehicle owners who have had their new car, truck, SUV, or van for at least 90 days. The study measures customer satisfaction with the quality of their vehicles, and from this research J.D. Power calculates Power Circle Ratings (PCRs). Through PCRs, the overall results of the study are summarized for consumers shopping for a new car. Based on those ratings, the models contained in this guide, listed in alphabetical order, are the highest-rated coupes in initial quality available for the 2015 model year.

2015 BMW 2 Series

Though the 2 Series is not the least expensive path to BMW ownership (that distinction belongs to the X1 crossover SUV), it does serve as the automaker's entry-level car model. For 2015, a convertible body style debuts, all-wheel drive (AWD) is a new option, and the base 228i model is offered with a Track Handling package.

In the 2015 IQS, the BMW 2 Series is the highest-ranked model in the Small Premium Car segment.

2015 BMW 4 Series

What once was called the 3 Series Coupe and 3 Series Convertible is now a part of the 4 Series lineup, which expands for 2015 with the addition of a new Gran Coupe model (actually a 5-door hatchback) and performance-oriented M4 variants. BMW claims that the new M4 Coupe and M4 Convertible are lighter, quicker, and more efficient than the M3 Coupe and M3 Convertible models they replace.

In the 2015 IQS, the BMW 4 Series is the highest-ranked model in the Compact Premium Car segment.

2015 BMW 6 Series

Offered as a 2-door coupe, 2-door convertible, and a 4-door Gran Coupe sedan, the BMW 6 Series lineup is available in 640i, 650i, and M6 model series. All are equipped with turbocharged engines, and BMW's xDrive AWD system is optional for 640i and 650i models. BMW made minor changes to the 6 Series at the start of the 2015 model year.

2015 Honda Civic

Following three straight years of upgrades, the Honda Civic Coupe carries over for 2015, adding only a free roadside-assistance program that's good for 3 years or 36,000 miles from the purchase date. Buyers can choose between LX, EX, EX-L, and sporty Si trim levels. A redesigned Civic arrives for the 2016 model year.

2015 Kia Forte Koup

Kia's creatively named Forte Koup is a compact, 2-door coupe offered in EX and SX trim levels. The latter version is the sporty one, equipped with a 201-horsepower, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. For 2015, Kia scrubbed the Forte Koup's Your Voice (UVO) eServices infotainment system from the standard equipment list, making it an option.

2015 Jaguar F-Type

Smaller and less expensive than Jaguar's iconic XK model, the F-Type lineup expands to include a new coupe for 2015. Three versions are available: standard, S, and R. The standard model has a 340-horsepower, supercharged V-6 engine that is dialed up to 380 horsepower in the F-Type S. All-wheel drive is optional for the F-Type S and is included for the F-Type R, which is powered by a 550-horsepower, supercharged V-8 engine.

In the 2015 IQS, the Jaguar F-Type ranks third in the Midsize Premium Sporty Car segment.

2015 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Smaller than the E-Class Sedan with which it shares its name, the E-Class Coupe is a rare pillar-less hardtop model equipped with a twin-turbocharged V-6 or a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine. The V-6 is new for 2015, replacing the previous 3.5-liter V-6 employed in the E350 Coupe and creating the new E400 Coupe. All-wheel drive is available only for the E400.

2015 Porsche 911

Tallied based on body style, powertrain combination, and trim package, there are 25 different Porsche 911 models available for the 2015 model year. New versions debuting this year include the 911 Carrera GTS range and the 911 Carrera Black Edition.
