German sports car maker Porsche, a Volkswagen Group premium brand, set an annual sales record in the United States in 2015 with help from two SUVs: the brand’s best-selling Cayenne plus the smaller, much-in-demand Macan, introduced in 2015. For the 2016 model year, Porsche focuses on upscale infotainment technology by offering an optional ultra-premium rear-seat entertainment system for its 4-door models.
Also, at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show, Porsche showed off its redone 2017 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S—with 20 more horsepower, sharper design elements, and advanced driver-assistance technologies—that will bow during the 2016 calendar year.
Following is an overview of new or updated features for each 2016 Porsche model:

Following is an overview of new or updated features for each 2016 Porsche model:
- Most variants are unchanged
- More advanced driver-assistance technologies are newly optional
- Five trim levels include new Black Edition with black-on-black exterior and special enhancements, and a new Spyder variant, the most powerful Boxster ever
- New Sport Classic 5-spoke alloy wheels including wheel arch extensions can be finished to match the vehicle’s exterior color
- Optional premium rear-seat entertainment system
- Cayenne Diesel and Hybrid models return to the lineup for 2016
- More powerful engine for GTS and Turbo S trim levels
- Black Edition featuring black-on-black design and a host of special features, technology, and special logo
- Optional new rear-seat entertainment system with two high-res 10.1-in. color display monitors integrated into backs of front-seat headrests
- Three-zone climate control is standard on all trim levels
- Heated steering wheel is standard on Macan Turbo
- A 360-degree surround-view camera is available
- Available in over a dozen configurations
- Optional new rear-seat entertainment system with two screens
- New Edition trim level offered on base and Panamera 4 models features different exterior styling and more standard equipment and technology systems
- New Panamera Exclusive Series Turbo S is unveiled for a limited production run with hand-finished details
