New for 2014: Nissan Trucks, SUVs and Vans
2014 Nissan Trucks, SUVs and Vans OverviewThe news in Nissan trucks is the debut of the 2014 Pathfinder Hybrid, a 250-horsepower, 7-passenger crossover utility vehicle estimated to return up to 27 mpg on the highway. The non-hybrid Pathfinder was redesigned for 2013 and returns with a new technology package for its top-of-the-line SL variant.
Another attention-getter is the completely redesigned 2014 Nissan Rogue. It has a fresh new look, expanded seating for up to 7 passengers, and several additional safety and convenience features.
These models are complemented by the Nissan Armada SUV, turbocharged Nissan Juke, hardtop and convertible Nissan Murano, full-size Nissan Titan pickup, large NV and smaller NV200 vans, and Nissan Quest minivan, all of which offer minimal changes at most. The 2014 Nissan Frontier midsize pickup truck and Xterra SUV have been updated just a bit with revisions to their selections of standard and optional features.
2014 Nissan Armada
The full-size Armada SUV carries over into 2014 without any changes. Buyers have the choice of three trim levels and rear-wheel-drive (2WD) or 4-wheel-drive (4WD) capability. Power comes from a standard 5.6-liter V-8 engine.
- No changes for the 2014 model year
2014 Nissan FrontierVisually, little has changed about the Nissan Frontier midsize pickup since the current generation truck debuted for the 2005 model year. That situation continues, as the 2014 Frontier is only mildly updated with new wheels. Other modifications include a standard manual sliding rear window on most crew cab variants, Bluetooth connectivity and air conditioning on even the base-level trucks, and technology upgrades including a revised navigation unit and new smartphone-linked infotainment system.
The 2014 Nissan Frontier is available in king and crew cab body styles with 2WD or 4WD capability, 4- or 6-cylinder engines, short or long bed, and S, SV, Desert Runner, Pro-4x, and SL trim levels.
- Wheel designs
- Updated equipment packages
- Standard manual sliding rear window on crew cab (not including base S model)
- Standard Bluetooth connectivity and air conditioning
- Updated navigation system
- Available smartphone-linked infotainment system
2014 Nissan JukeAvailable in S, SV, SL, and Nismo trim levels, the Nissan Juke is a small 5-passenger crossover with a style all its own. Updates for 2014 include two new paint colors.
Buyers have the choice of front-wheel-drive (FWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD) capability. All versions are equipped with a turbocharged, 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine, though the Nismo delivers 197 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque while other Jukes offer 188 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft. of torque.
2014 Nissan Murano
For 2014, the Nissan Murano arrives with one new color combination--Graphite interior upholstery paired with Tinted Bronze exterior paint. Otherwise, the crossover has been carried over from 2013.
In addition to its more traditional 5-passenger hardtop body style, the 2014 Murano is available as a 4-passenger Cabriolet model with a power-retractable soft top. All Muranos are equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine and can be configured with FWD or AWD capability.
- Updated interior and exterior color combinations
2014 Nissan NV VanThe full-size 2014 Nissan NV van, offered in cargo and passenger configurations with seating for up to 12 occupants, is offered in light- and heavy-duty series with standard and extended roof heights for maximum utility and versatility. Buyers have the choice of a V-6 or V-8 engine, the latter now packed with a standard tow/haul mode and class IV trailer hitch. Nissan has also made some changes to which features are standard on the different NV models (as this preview is written, additional details are not available).
- Revised selection of features
- V-8 models gain standard tow/haul mode, class IV tow package, and a heavy-duty battery
2014 Nissan NV200Since it debuted for the 2013 model year, the small NV200 van hasn't been changed for 2014. S and SV trim levels are offered, both equipped with a 131-horsepower, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that works with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to deliver output to the front wheels. According to Nissan, the 2014 NV200 features nearly 123 cu. ft. of cargo space and can accommodate a 1,500-lb. payload. EPA-rated fuel economy is 24/25/24 mpg (city/highway/combined).
2014 Nissan Pathfinder
A completely redesigned Pathfinder crossover debuted for the 2013 model year. Nissan is following up on that effort with the launch of the 2014 Pathfinder Hybrid offering Nissan-estimated fuel economy measuring 25/27/26 mpg (city/highway/combined) and a total range of 526 miles per tank of gas. Power comes from a supercharged, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to a CVT, 15-kW motor, and Lithium-ion battery. Net output is 250 horsepower and 243 lb.-ft. of torque.
The non-hybrid 2014 Nissan Pathfinder has been updated with a new SL Tech package consisting of a 13-speaker premium sound system, navigation system, and 8.0-inch touch-screen display.
2014 Nissan Quest
Minivans are past their heyday, but Nissan continues to offer the Quest for people who want what may be the most family-friendly mode of transportation to ever hit motorways. With 7-passenger seating, a 260-horsepower V-6 engine, EPA-estimated 25 mpg on the highway, and options like a rear-seat entertainment system, the 2014 Nissan Quest is capable of serving the needs of a wide variety of vehicle buyers.
Updates for 2014 are limited to two new paint colors.
- Titanium and Gun Metallic paint colors
2014 Nissan RogueWhile competing models like the Toyota RAV4 have recently decreased seating capacity, the completely redesigned 2014 Nissan Rogue crossover is debuting with a new third-row seat, something previous iterations have lacked. In addition to accommodating up to 7 passengers, the longer and taller 2014 Rogue boasts LED daytime running lights, an adjustable cargo floor, available side- and top-view cameras, power-operated liftgate, updated CVT that Nissan suggests contributes to improved fuel efficiency, and a suite of new option packages. Safety is addressed by 6 air bags and an available blind-spot monitoring system, forward-collision warning system, and lane-departure warning system. The Rogue can be ordered in one of three trim levels equipped with FWD or AWD capability and a 170-horsepower, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine.

2014 Nissan TitanTechnically, the Nissan Titan is a full-size pickup, but it has never enjoyed the same level of sales success as the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, Ram 1500, and even the Toyota Tundra. That may change when a redesigned Titan, anticipated to arrive for the 2015 model year, debuts with changes that include a new V-8 diesel engine option.
Until then, the 2014 Titan fills the void. The truck is a carryover from 2013.
- No changes for the 2014 model year
2014 Nissan XterraBody-on-frame SUVs are gradually being phased out by crossovers that promise superior ride comfort and fuel efficiency, but the Nissan Xterra has bucked that trend and soldiers on for another year. The 2014 model looks nearly identical to the version it replaces, save for updated alloy wheels and revised climate controls on the base trim level. Other changes include standard front heated seats on the rugged Xterra Pro-4x, an upgraded audio system, and Nissan's latest infotainment technology.
- Updated wheel designs
- Standard Bluetooth connectivity
