A forward-facing exterior defines the 2020 Ram 1500. A jet black grille with matching door handles and bumpers provide a sleek and sophisticated finish around the exterior of the truck, complemented by powerful 18-inch steel wheels and 275/65R18 BSW tires. At the rear is a Ram-exclusive ParkView back-up camera for worry-free parking and a host of discrete sensors to assist with lane changing and blind-spot object detection.

Under the Hood

Drivers have three powertrain options with the 2020 Ram 1500. Standard is the 3.0L V6 EcoDiesel engine with an eight-speed e-shifter transmission. An upgraded 3.6L Pentastar VVT V6 engine is available as an upgrade, as well as a whopping 5.7L HEMI VVT V8 MDS diesel engine for maximum performance.

The all-new EcoDiesel engine is also found in the Chrysler Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator for their 2020 product lineup. In the Ram 1500, the V6 EcoDiesel boasts an impressive 240 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque with a fully-redesigned iron block that weighs 15 lbs less than its predecessor.

All engines are supported by a 48V electrical support system and rear air suspension for superior performance. Regardless of trim package, the Ram 1500 can haul over 2,000 lbs in payload and max out around 12,750 of total towing capacity.

Fuel Economy

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rated the 2020 Ram 1500 a Top Safety Pick Plus after being subjected to six comprehensive safety tests. Similarly, the Ram Blind Spot Monitoring system provides an auditory warning to drivers who are changing lanes with a vehicle in their blind spot zones.
