Exterior FeaturesThe 2013 Escalade SUV and extended-length Escalade ESV are sold in Standard, Luxury, Premium and Platinum trim levels. The Escalade Hybrid can be equipped with Standard or Platinum trim, and is offered only as a standard-length model.
Non-hybrid Escalades ride on 18-inch aluminum wheels, and include HID headlights with Twilight Sentinel automatic operation, LED taillights, heated power-adjustable and power-folding side mirrors, rear park-assist sensors, and a power tailgate.
Interior FeaturesHighlights from the 2013 Cadillac Escalade's extensive standard equipment list include Bluetooth connectivity, touch-screen navigation system, Bose surround-sound audio system, triple-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, heated and ventilated front seats, power-adjustable pedals, and a reversing camera. Second-row bucket seats are standard, with an option for a 3-person bench seat at no additional charge. Cadillac provides 1 free year of OnStar telematics service with Escalade purchase, as well as free scheduled maintenance for 4 years or 50,000 miles.Optional FeaturesTo add options to a Cadillac Escalade, buyers must choose the Luxury, Premium or Platinum trim. All three of these upgrade trims, and the Escalade Hybrid, include 22-inch aluminum wheels, Magnetic Ride Control suspension, Intellibeam headlights, power sunroof, heated steering wheel, side blind-zone alert system, and power-release second-row seats.
The Escalade Premium adds a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, power-retractable side steps, dual-outlet stainless steel exhaust system, tire inflation kit, and unique detailing.
The Escalade Platinum and Escalade Hybrid Platinum include LED headlights, upgraded leather and wood trim, heated and cooled cup holders, and dual screens for the rear-seat entertainment system.
Under the HoodThe 2013 Escalade comes standard with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine. The engine generates 403 horsepower, 417 lb.-ft. of torque, and features an Active Fuel Management system that shuts down half of the engine's cylinders under low-load conditions, such as when the vehicle is cruising on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission delivers the power to the rear wheels, and an all-wheel-drive system is optional.
Escalade Hybrid models are equipped with a gas/electric powertrain. This is a "full hybrid," meaning that the SUV can operate solely on electricity at low speeds. A 6.0-liter V-8 engine is connected to an electrically variable transmission with dual electric motors. A 300-volt nickel-metal hydride battery pack supplies electricity, and recharges via the regenerative braking system. Combined, these components produce 332 horsepower and 367 lb.-ft. of torque.
SafetyAll Escalades are equipped with a reversing camera and rear parking-assist sensors to make it easier to see behind the vehicle when in reverse gear. Luxury, Premium, Platinum and Hybrid models are equipped with a side blind-sone alert system, which monitors the Escalade's blind spots and alerts the driver if vehicles are in adjacent lanes when signaling to change lanes.
TechnologyThe Escalade's standard Cadillac Shield protection program includes 1 free year of OnStar telematics service featuring emergency, roadside assistance, security, and diagnostic services.
