New for 2013: Mazda

2013 Mazda Model Overview

This is a time of transition for the Mazda brand. Traditionally associated with performance--thus the company's "Zoom Zoom" advertising tagline--Mazda is redefining what "fun to drive" means by installing fuel-efficient Skyactiv powertrains into vehicles with entertaining handling characteristics. Vehicle design is also in the middle of a makeover as Mazda moves away from its "Nagare" theme, as seen on the Mazda 5 minivan, toward its new "Kodo" theme, displayed on the new 2013 Mazda CX-5 crossover SUV.

The introduction of the Mazda CX-5 was the big news from Mazda this year. The larger CX-9 crossover and the iconic MX-5 Miata are restyled with Kodo themes this year, while remaining models in the Mazda lineup have detail changes in advance of redesigned Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 models for the 2014 model year. Mazda also starts rolling out its new 5.8-inch color touch-screen navigation system this year, which includes SMS text messaging capability, e911 emergency service assistance, Pandora Internet radio streaming, HD Radio, and more.
