2014 Honda Accord
In addition to upgraded cloth upholstery and a new auto-dimming rearview mirror (now fully automatic and requiring no activation by the driver), the 5-passenger 2014 Honda Accord sedan arrives with all-new hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants. EPA estimates for the 2014 Accord Hybrid are 50/45/47 mpg (city/highway/combined) and 115 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) for the Accord Plug-in Hybrid, the latter offering what Honda claims is a 13-mile electric-only range. Both share a 2.0-liter, Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder engine that delivers 141 horsepower and is joined by an electric motor and Lithium-ion battery pack.Shoppers interested in a 2014 Honda Accord without the extra hybrid technology can opt for a 185-horsepower 4-cylinder or 278-horsepower 6-cylinder engine and one of six trim levels.
2014 Honda Civic
As this article is written, Honda has not released details about the 2014 Civic.The front-wheel-drive (FWD) 2013 Civic is available in coupe and sedan body styles, several trim levels ranging from base LX to sporty Si, and can be equipped with traditional gas or hybrid powertrains. A natural-gas option is also offered.
2014 Honda Crosstour
Like the now-discontinued Acura ZDX, Honda's Crosstour doesn't neatly fit into any traditional automotive mold. Essentially a crossover version of the Accord, this 5-passenger model can be ordered with FWD or all-wheel-drive (AWD) capability, 4-cylinder or V-6 engine, and in EX or EX-L guise. According to Honda, the Crosstour can tow up to 1,500 lbs., has a maximum cargo capacity measuring 51.3 cu. ft., and averages up to 31 mpg on the highway.2014 Honda CR-V
Last updated in 2012, the popular Honda CR-V returns unchanged for the 2014 model year.Available in LX, EX, and EX-L trim levels offering FWD or AWD capability, the 2014 CR-V delivers an EPA-estimated 31 mpg on the highway courtesy of its 185-horsepower, 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine and 5-speed automatic transmission. With the rear seats folded, the CR-V's cargo area expands to 70.9 cu. ft.
2014 Honda CR-Z
Not long ago, the suggestion of marrying the terms sporty and hybrid would've raised more than a few doubtful eyebrows. Of course, the market is now home to an increasing number of genuinely entertaining gas/electric models, but few match the Honda CR-Z, which blends a sleek 2-passenger configuration with an available 6-speed manual transmission. That gearbox is connected to a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine working with a 15-kW electric motor and Lithium-ion battery to generate 130 net horsepower.The CR-Z, which is available in base and EX trim levels, can be fitted with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that carries EPA fuel-economy estimates of 36/39/37 mpg. The 2014 model has been carried over unchanged.
2014 Honda FCX Clarity
Honda's FCX Clarity is a hydrogen-powered model available to a limited number of lessees in select states. As this article is written, the company has not released information for the 2014 model year.At the heart of the 4-passenger FCX Clarity are a 100-kW fuel cell, 288-volt Lithium-ion battery, and a 134-horsepower electric motor. Honda estimates the car has a driving range of 240 miles.
2014 Honda Fit
As this article is written, Honda has not released any details about a 2014 Fit, though it has unveiled a redesigned 2015 model. In addition to new styling, the 2015 Fit will feature a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to a manual gearbox or a dual-clutch automated manual transmission bundled with an electric motor and Lithium-ion battery.Until the 2015 Fit arrives, the 2013 model will continue to offer buyers the choice of two trim levels equipped with a 117-horsepower 4-cylinder engine. EPA-rated fuel economy peaks at 28/35/31 mpg (city/highway/combined).
The Fit EV is unchanged for 2014. According to Honda, this fully electric 5-door wagon boasts 118 MPGe and a maximum range of 82 miles.
2014 Honda Insight
Car shoppers who liked the 2013 Honda Insight hybrid will be pleased to learn that the car returns for 2014 without any changes.Offered in base, LX, and EX trim levels, the 2014 Insight is equipped with a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine, electric motor, nickel-metal hydride battery, and a CVT with optional paddle shifters. EPA fuel-economy estimates are 41/44/42 mpg (city/highway/combined).
2014 Honda Odyssey
Aside from hybrid versions of the Accord, the most significant news coming out of Honda for 2014 centers on the redesigned Odyssey minivan. Behind its updated styling, the 2014 model boasts a 6-speed automatic transmission for all five trim levels, added standard equipment including a power front-passenger seat and infotainment system including hands-free text messaging and Pandora Internet radio compatibility, improved fuel economy, optional push-button start, and safety technologies such as forward-collision warning. The 2014 Odyssey also offers the Lanewatch blind-spot monitoring system that initially debuted on the Honda Accord, and differs from competitors' offerings by displaying an image of the passenger-side travel lane. Another innovative addition is a built-in vacuum cleaner (standard on Touring Elite) that's located in the cargo area, but includes an expandable hose that stretches to other parts of the interior.2014 Honda Pilot
As is the case with several other Honda models, the Pilot crossover is carried over unchanged for 2014. Buyers have the choice of FWD or 4-wheel-drive (4WD) capability and four trim levels, but all Pilots feature the same 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 250 horsepower and 253 lb.-ft. of torque. EPA fuel-economy estimates for a FWD 2014 Honda Pilot are 18/25/21 mpg (city/highway/combined).2014 Honda Ridgeline
A new Special Edition trim level serves to differentiate the 2014 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck from its predecessor. Buyers who opt for this special variant get unique 18-inch alloy wheels and black exterior trim accents. A voice-controlled navigation system is standard, as are Bluetooth connectivity and a rearview camera.Other 2014 Ridgeline trim levels include the RT, Sport, RTS, and RTL, all of which are powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. A 4WD system is standard on all Ridgelines.
