2009 Ferrari California

A , and paying homage to the 1957 250 GT California Spyder, Ferrari has introduced a limited-production open-top GT styled by Pininfarina. The aluminum-bodied car features a powerful 4.3-liter V-8 powerplant rated at 453 hp. Mated to an all-new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the Ferrari will sprint to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds. The 2009 Ferrari California sets itself apart from other Ferraris as its V-8 engine is mounted in a "mid-front" position for the first time. By placing the engine in front of the passengers, but behind the front axle, Ferrari was able to accommodate another first for the marque: a power-operated folding hardtop for this all-new convertible platform.
