New for 2014: Cadillac

2014 Cadillac Overview

Big things are happening at Cadillac these days, including the launch of the all-new, Chevrolet Volt-based 2014 Cadillac ELR plug-in hybrid coupe. Offering an electric-only range of up to 35 miles, the 4-passenger ELR can be fully recharged in less than 5 hours, boasts a sport-tuned chassis accented by standard 20-inch alloy wheels, and is distinguished by LED headlights. Cadillac also suggests that the ELR's interior is indicative of what buyers will soon see across the lineup.

The 2014 model year is also significant for the Cadillac CTS. The coupe, wagon, and all high-performance V models are essentially carryovers, but the CTS sedan has been completely redesigned. Longer than its predecessor, the 2014 CTS sedan boasts fresh exterior styling, a vibrating Safety Alert Seat, new Vsport trim level, and an available twin-turbocharged V-6 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Not to be outdone, the 2014 Cadillac ATS arrives with a few updates of its own, highlights of which are optional active high-beam headlights and a sport steering wheel. Changes for the Escalade SUV are limited to one new exterior color, while the 2014 SRX features new chrome wheels, available two-tone interior, and the active high-beam headlights. The 2014 Cadillac XTS is now available with a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine, rear-seat entertainment system, and an automatic park-assist system.

2014 Cadillac ATS

Cadillac's smallest sedan enters the 2014 model year with four new exterior paint colors, new frameless interior rearview mirror, active high-beam headlights, and a rear 110-volt power outlet on vehicles equipped with navigation and the company's CUE infotainment technology. The array of dealer-installed accessories has also grown to include aluminum sport pedals and several new 19-inch wheel options.

  • Redesigned interior rearview mirror

2014 Cadillac CTS

The CTS lineup consists of coupe, sedan, and wagon models, as well as high-performance V variants. With the exception of updated colors, the 2014 CTS coupe, wagon, and V models have been carried over largely unchanged, though the coupe does offer a new Sport Blue interior package consisting of Twilight Blue leather upholstery, wood trim, rain-sensing wipers, and unique backlighting.

The sedan, on the other hand, has undergone a complete redesign. The result is a longer, sleeker 4-door that incorporates more lightweight aluminum construction, magnetic ride control suspension system optional on even the base sedan, and a vibrating safety seat that was introduced on the Cadillac XTS. A new Vsport trim level also debuts for 2014, and upgrades the sedan with a new 420-horsepower, twin-turbocharged V-6 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The standard power plant is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that delivers 272 horsepower.
