Jaguar first introduced the XF in 2009, touting it as a luxury sports sedan. It was introduced to replace the aging S-Type fleet. During its second year of production, in 2010, Jaguar added the XF Premium and debuted the XF Supercharged, which featured a 5.0-liter V8 supercharged engine. A few new trim levels were also introduced as was a quieter cabin, thanks to sound-proofing materials being added. In 2011, Jaguar upgrade the XF model with a slightly larger engine, added bigger brakes in the front and added the Jaguar Drive Control Dynamic mode (a suspension and throttle logistics system). The company also added an optional heated windshield. The 2012 XF featured a more refined exterior styling with new headlamps and taillights. Jaguar also added a new sound system and a new touchscreen interface. The Premium trim would replace the XF Portfolio trim as well. In 2013, the car remained unchanged from the previous years model.
