Introduction

The 2013 Suzuki SX4 is a compact 5-seater that's offered in three versions: a sedan body style, SportBack (hatchback), and a Crossover. The sedan and the SportBack employ front-wheel drive (FWD). The Crossover configuration is all-wheel drive (AWD). The Sedan comes in three trim levels: base LE, LE Popular Package, and Sport SE. The SportBack comes in a single trim much like the Sedan Sport SE, while the Crossover is offered in LE trim, with the Premium and Tech Value packages available. Suzuki has stopped selling vehicles in the United States pursuant to reorganization due to bankruptcy, so this model may be difficult to find. A navigation system has been added to the lineup of options for 2013, the front fascia has been restyled, and a few new colors are available. The Suzuki SX4 competes with the Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, Nissan Versa, and others.

Exterior Features

The 2013 Suzuki SX4 is available in white, red, Fiery Red, copper, black, blue, or silver, although not all colors are available on all versions and trim levels. The base SX4 features 15-inch steel wheels. The Popular Package adds alloy wheels and remote keyless entry. The SE sedan includes to 17-inch wheels, fog lights, and an aero body kit, while the Crossover has 16-inch wheels, roof rails, cargo cover, and remote keyless entry.

Interior Features

Standard interior features on the base model include air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, trip computer, front and rear cupholders, manual-tilt steering wheel, various storage areas, cloth upholstery in black, 6-way driver's seat adjustment, 60/40-split rear seats, and a sound system. The Popular Package adds cruise control and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with sound controls. The Sport SE trim level adds paddle shifters to the automatic transmission, and Bluetooth connectivity. The Crossover's Premium package is roughly similar to the Sedan's Popular Package, and the Tech package adds a voice-activated navigation system. The trunk of the sedan offers 15 cubic feet of cargo space, while both the Sportback and the Crossover, with the rear seats folded, provide a total of 54 cubic feet of cargo space.

Optional Features

Some of the upgrades offered at the upper trim levels are available as options on the lower trim levels. However, some features are available only on one of the three configurations. A rear spoiler extension and front and rear floor mats are optional.

Under the Hood

All variants of the 2013 Suzuki SX4 are powered by a 2.0-liter, 150-horsepower 4-cylinder engine that produces 140 lb.-ft. of torque, mated with a 6-speed manual transmission and FWD on the base trims, or a continuously variable transmission (CVT) on the upper trim levels. The CVT is optional on the Crossover. All-wheel drive is standard on the Crossover but not available on the other models.
