The 2013 Nissan NV200 is the latest compact commercial van designed to address the needs of small businesses that want a van that is smaller and more fuel-efficient than a full-size model.
Compared to Nissan's full-size NV1500 van, the compact 2013 NV200 model is 4.5 feet shorter. The vehicle is offered in S and SV trim levels, each equipped with standard blind-spotter side mirrors, dual sliding side cargo doors, and 60/40-split rear cargo doors that open at 90-degree or 180-degree angles. The cargo floor's lift-over height measures 19.5 inches.
Inside, the 2013 Nissan NV200 provides 122.7 cubic feet of cargo space. The cargo area is designed to carry standard 40 x 48-inch pallets, and measures 82.8 inches long, 54.8 inches wide at the walls, 48 inches wide at the wheel wells, and 53 inches high. The maximum payload capacity is 1,500 pounds.
Standard equipment for the NV200 S model includes integrated mounting points for racks and shelves, power windows, and a stereo with 2 speakers and a CD player. The driver seat is height-adjustable and includes wear patches on the outboard bolsters. The front passenger seat folds in half to serve as a worktable or to accommodate longer cargo items.
Select the 2013 Nissan NV200 SV model, and the cargo van is upgraded with power heated side mirrors, power door locks, remote keyless entry, cruise control, full wheel covers, and integrated cargo tie-down hooks in the cargo area. Additional options include Bluetooth, dark-tinted rear door glass, Appearance package with body color trim and a chrome grille, and a Technology package with a reversing camera and a NissanConnect infotainment system.
Under the Hood
A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine is standard for the 2013 Nissan NV200, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that delivers power to the front wheels. The NV200's engine generates 131 horsepower and 139 lb.-ft. of torque, and Nissan estimates it will get 24 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
The new NV200 van rides on an independent front and leaf spring rear suspension, and is equipped with 15-inch steel wheels with P185/60R15 tires. Front-disc, rear-drum anti-lock brakes include brake assist, and the NV200 has standard electric steering.
Every 2013 Nissan NV200 is fitted with 6 air bags, traction control, stability control, and anti-lock brakes with brake assist. A reversing camera is optional.
Order the optional Technology package and the NV200 adds NissanConnect smartphone pairing technology with a navigation system and a hands-free text-messaging assistant. Highlights of the system include Google local search and send-to-car destination service, Pandora Internet radio, and the ability to run additional mobile applications from the system's in-dash touch screen.
