IntroductionThe 2013 Buick Regal is a 4-door midsize sedan with sporty and luxury features. It's available in three models: Base and Turbo (each with three levels of options), and the top-of-the line Regal GS. The 2013 Regal is available with a choice of three engines: a 4-cylinder gasoline engine with hybrid assist; turbocharged 2.0-liter conventional engine; or a more powerful version of the 2.0-liter engine. Among the Regal's main competitors are the Acura TSX, Audi A4, BMW 328i, Infiniti G37, and Lincoln MKZ. Other than three new exterior colors replacing three of those offered in 2012, the 2013 Regal is almost unchanged from the previous year.
Exterior FeaturesThe 2013 Buick Regal is available in six standard and three premium colors. The base model features 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, fog lights, heated mirrors, and keyless entry. The Premium I trim adds keyless ignition; Premium II adds xenon headlights. The Turbo model upgrades to 18-inch wheels; the Turbo Premium III trim level adds 19-inch wheels and an adaptive suspension. The GS model features a sport-tuned suspension, plus optional 20-inch wheels with summer performance tires.

The Turbo I trim adds a heated steering wheel; Turbo III adds adjustable driving settings. The GS model includes enhanced interior styling cues, front sport seats, a sportier steering wheel, and an upgraded version of the proprietary Interactive Drive Control system. The Regal offers 14.2 cubic feet of trunk space with the turbocharged engine, or 11.1 cubic feet with the battery-assisted 4-cylinder engine.
Optional FeaturesMany of the standard premium features on upper trims are available as packages for the base trim. The GS offers 20-inch wheels with summer performance tires, while all trim levels offer a sunroof and navigation system.
Under the HoodThree engines are available with the 2013 Regal. The standard power plant is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 182 horsepower and 172 lb.-ft. of torque. It works with an electric motor and Lithium-ion battery (eAssist) system to improve fuel efficiency. Standard is a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shifters. The Regal Turbo features a turbocharged, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 220 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, which can be had with the automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission. That engine is also standard on the GS, but it's additionally charged to deliver 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. The Regal GS also adds Brembo brakes. The manual transmission is standard on the GS, with an automatic transmission optional.
