To commemorate the 13 people who founded the very first Porsche Clubs 60 years ago, Porsche is building 13 examples of the exclusive 2012 911 Club Coupe.
The ultra-limited production 2012 Porsche 911 Club Coupe is based on the Carrera S model, and equipped with a Sport Design exterior package that includes a revised front end and a "duck-tail" rear spoiler, machined-finish 20-inch Sport Techno wheels with black-painted pockets, and yellow-painted brake calipers. The car is dipped in Brewster Green paint, and features 911 Club Coupe script on the lower leading edges of the doors.
The limited-production 911 Club Coupe is upholstered in Espresso leather and trimmed with an Aluminum Interior package. If you're one of the lucky owners to be selected from the pool of registered members of the 640 official Porsche Clubs around the world, your name will be engraved on the Club Coupe's doorsill.
The 911 Club Coupe costs $175,580, almost $80,000 more than a standard 911 Carrera S. If you'd like to spend more than that, you can equip the car with a rear window wiper, adaptive sport seats with ventilation, Porsche Entry & Drive keyless entry with push-button ignition, Burmeister premium sound system, power-folding side mirrors, aluminum pedals, Power Steering Plus, fire extinguisher, and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control. Child seat ISOFIX mounting points for the front passenger's seat are also optional, along with numerous interior and exterior trim upgrades.
Under the Hood
The 911 Club Coupe is equipped with a 3.8-liter, horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine, and features a Powerkit that boosts horsepower by 30, to 430 overall. Accordingly, Porsche says the Club Coupe accelerates to 60 mph with greater alacrity, achieving that speed in just 4 seconds.
Porsche Active Suspension Management is standard on the 911 Club Coupe, dropping the car 20mm over its 20-inch wheels and tires. A sports exhaust system, Sport Chrono Package Plus, and Porsche's PDK automated 7-speed manual gearbox are also standard on this model, but Porsche will build this car with a traditional 7-speed manual if the buyer prefers.
According to the EPA, the 2012 Porsche 911 Club Coupe is rated to get the following fuel economy:
911 Club Coupe with manual transmission: 18/25/21 mpg (city/highway/combined)
911 Club Coupe with PDK: 19/26/22 mpg
The Porsche 911 Club Coupe is equipped with 8 air bags, including knee air bags for the driver and front passenger. Additionally, the car comes with 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist, and Porsche Stability Management.
