About XC90 Hybrid

Advertised as the world's first seven-passenger plug-in hybrid vehicle, the Volvo XC90 Hybrid boasted exceptional fuel-savings in addition to high-end crossover luxury. Using an electric/gasoline powertrain Volvo calls a T8 Twin Engine, the premium crossover vehicle can function in three modes. In pure electric, an 87-horsepower electric motor propels the XC90 Hybrid for up to 17 miles. In hybrid mode, the electric motor cooperates with a turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine for maximized fuel economy. Drivers of the Volvo XC90 Hybrid can also select a power mode that unleashes the full potential of the combined 400 horsepower being funneled to standard all-wheel drive. Included in Momentum, Inscription and R-Design trim levels, the XC90 T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid standard features include LED headlights, 10-way power front seats and Volvo Sensus Connect with a 9-inch touch screen. The Volvo XC90 Hybrid's cabin was inspired by Scandinavian culture and designed in Sweden marrying handcrafted touches, soft leather and fine wood trim.
