Volkswagen Routan Models and Routan History

The Routan was introduced in 2009, as Volkswagen sought to get into competition with the popular American minivan market. The Routan would coast through 2010 unchanged. But in 2011, it boasted a new 3.6-liter V6 engine with more power, a new trip computer, and optional GPS system. Subtle changes were in store for 2012, namely trim level updates.
