The Sequoia full-size SUV was released in 2001 to meet growing market demands for behemoth cars. Following its release, nothing was different for 2002. New 17” premium alloy wheels graced the Sequoia for 2003, with updates to all upper trim levels and options. 2004 would see no updates. But in 2005, the engine got a power boost to 282 hp with a new five-speed automatic transmission, in-glass antenna and colored fender flares.
2006 wouldn’t yield any notable updates with front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags being made standard in 2007. A redesigned Sequoia hit showroom floors in 2008, with a beefier V8 engine, new fold-flat third-row seating and new upper trim levels. Following no updates in 2009, the 2010 Sequoia would get a more powerful V8 engine, an updated audio system and Bluetooth/iPod integration. Nothing was different for 2011, with trailer sway control being made standard across all trim levels in 2012. For 2013, minor updates were made to the options and trim levels.
