All New and Used Prius-c Model Years and History
The smallest member of the Toyota Prius hybrid vehicle family, the Prius c arrived in 2012 as both the most affordable and most efficient member of the gasoline/electric powertrain bandwagon. Measuring 157.3 inches in length, the Toyota Prius c was 18.3 inches shorter than conventional Prius. A compact version of Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive technology consisted a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline Atkinson cycle engine combined with an electric motor feeding off a 144-volt nickel-metal hydride battery. Through city driving, the Prius c could achieve 53 miles per gallon. Offered in four trim grades in 2012, standard features found on the Toyota Prius c included automatic climate control, remote keyless entry and Bluetooth connectivity. For 2015, a revision to the Prius c added LED headlights and modernized taillights. Limited to 1,500 examples in 2016, a Toyota Prius c Persona Series Special Edition gave a factory custom look to the hybrid with black alloy wheels and contrast color accents. Also in 2016, the Best Buy Geek Squad acquired more than a 1,000 Toyota Prius c hybrids to perform technology-related house calls.
