Subaru Legacy Wagon Models and Legacy Wagon History

The Legacy wagon would undergo no major changes for 1998. But in 1999, an all-new model was introduced that was sleeker, roomier and more stylish. LEV compliance was integrated in 1999 and 24-hour roadside assistance was offered. Meanwhile, substantial changes to various trim levels were introduced. Sweeping updates to the GT upper trim level were the only updates for 2000-2002, with the 2003 model year receiving new front styling. A 35th anniversary special edition Legacy debuted in 2004, with special badging and signature features. Several new interior accents were also offered. An all-new Legacy Wagon was released in 2005, with an available 250-horsepower turbocharged engine, drastically updated interior and revamped exterior styling. A new variable valve lift system gave engines a bump in horsepower for 2006, with sweeping updates made to enhance all upper trim levels. In 2007, Subaru added an MP3 compatible CD player to all models, updated the seating fabric and made the rear seat folding as standard features.
