Cadillac Coronavirus Financial Relief and New Car Incentives

The Coronavirus has altered life as we know it for every person around the globe and in the United States. The crisis surrounding the spread of COVID-19 is changing our language, lifestyle, and work environments in ways we could not have fathomed a mere couple of months ago. The entire nation has been asked to stay at home and “social distance” has become a term we hear multiple times every day.

Cadillac Coronavirus Financial Relief and New Car Incentives

The year 2019 was full of challenges in its own right, with the global auto manufacturing market experiencing changes in customer demands, evolving technology, and uncertain trade conflicts. Fast forward to 2020, and we see the crucial supply chain that all aspects of the economy rely upon suddenly halted at the beginning of the year due to the Coronavirus, causing a ripple effect throughout the global and U.S. automobile market.

A division of General Motors, Cadillac is headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, and is one of many manufacturers struggling with the abrupt stoppage of the national economy. Cadillac is the company that introduced interchangeable auto parts and mass production into the market and made things like windshield wipers and power steering a staple on all vehicles. But much like nearly every business in the current, Cadillac is struggling right along with its competitors in the face of the devastating Coronavirus outbreak.

In response to these challenges and in the face of this adversity, Cadillac has shifted its efforts towards formulating customer assistance options they can provide to their employees, partners, and customers to help provide relief in these difficult times. The automaker has also thrown its hat in the ring of companies offering numerous Coronavirus car payment plans to assist customers who may be financially struggling as a result of COVID-19.

Cadillac Customer Relief Programs

Cadillac is offering a variety of assistance programs to extend a helping hand to its current customers that may be experiencing a financial setback due to the Coronavirus. Cadillac would like current purchasers or lessees who have financed their vehicle through GM Financial to contact GM directly to discuss their relief options.

GM Financial has several convenient ways to contact them if you need help with a loan payment deferral or assistance with an existing lease payment. Cadillac can also be contacted directly at 1-800-333-4223. The auto brand also offers a free downloadable app, in addition to SMS services. Cadillac customers can text INFO to 53721 and the company can also be reached at 1-800-284-2271.

When calling for payment relief assistance, the company is asking customers to have their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) available, as well as your dealership name and location, purchase date, and current mileage noted in order to provide quick and efficient service.

During this time, Cadillac is also offering Onstar crisis assistance service for free to owners that have properly equipped vehicles. Press the blue Onstar button in your vehicle, and an advisor will be there to help with emergency communications, directions, and hands-free calling.

Cadillac Factory Closures

In cooperation with the UAW, Cadillac and its partners shut down manufacturing production in North America back in mid-March due to the Coronavirus. Cadillac has committed to doing what they can to help stop the spread of COVID-19 while maintaining the safety of its employees, partners, and customers.

While initially, the plan was to re-open on March 30th, that optimistic timetable has now been moved back to sometime around the beginning of this month, as the containment of the virus remains a serious battle. Cadillac is poised to resume production as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.

Cadillac Economic Outlook and Sales Forecast

To date, Cadillac has remained silent on any sales predictions for the remainder of 2020, due to the catastrophic fallout caused by COVID-19. The U.S. auto market has kept a watchful eye as experts like Moody’s Investment Group have predicted a small-but-hopeful possibility of a positive fourth quarter in sales, pending the continued decline in infection rates and containment of the Coronavirus.

J.D. Power released a statement regarding its 2020 outlook of 16.8 million U.S. light-vehicle sales, an outlook that was calculated before the globe was ground to a halt because of COVID-19. Due to the substantial strain the virus has put on the entire economy, it is no longer feasible to realistically attain these figures. J.D. Power expects sales to likely fall in the range of 14 to 16 million units due to the growing recovery efforts ahead due to the Coronavirus.
