Ram Truck ProMaster Window Van Models and ProMaster Window Van History
Existing in Europe as the Fiat Ducato, the Ram ProMaster entered the North American large commercial van market in 2014. Directed towards shuttle services and other parties tasked with commuting passengers, the ProMaster Window Van was added in 2015. Provided with natural light of large side windows inside the Window Van, passenger space within the configurable interior ranged up to 14 occupants. For 2014 and 2015, the Ram ProMaster Window Van premiered with only one configuration based on a 159-inch wheelbase with a high roof presenting a great deal of passenger headroom as well as safety with electronic stability control and six airbags. Starting in 2016, the ProMaster Window Van could be ordered as an extended length model providing an additional 14.5 inches for cargo. Being the only large van sold in the United States with front-wheel drive, the ProMaster line featured ample performance from either a gasoline or diesel powerplant. Buyers could opt for the 280-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 combined with a six-speed automatic transmission or choice a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel four-cylinder engine that generated 295 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automated manual transmission was included with optional diesel power on the ProMaster Window Van.
