Mercedes Benz GLA Models and GLA History
Debuting for 2015, the GLA-Class became Mercedes-Benz's entrant in the compact premium crossover utility market. Derived from the CLA-Class platform, the GLA-Class exhibited an unmistakably sporty exterior appearance with smooth curves and a performance stance. The youthful premium design of the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class also promoted luxury versatility. Power adjustable front seats, electronic cruise control, Mbrace connectivity and power liftgate was all standard equipment on the vehicle. Available with front-wheel drive or Mercedes-Benz's 4Matic all-wheel drive, the 2015 GLA250 featured a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. A high-performance AMG version of the Mercedes-Benz compact crossover immediately appeared alongside the GLA250. Powered by a hand-built, 355-horsepower turbocharged engine, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG added a sport suspension, high-performance braking featuring perforated discs as well as high-end interior touches with leather mixed with brushed aluminum and brushed stainless steel front door sills. The Mercedes-AMG GLA45's engine output was bumped to 375 horsepower in 2016 while the 2017 model year added a larger multimedia display and standard remote start to the GLA250. For the 2018 model year, buyers of the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class will notice an extra dose of sport style with the already lively crossover. Redesigned front bumper, LED headlights and standard Active Brake Assist, the 2018 GLA250 will also receive an updated interior. Mercedes-AMG GLA45 models could also be enhanced by bold AMG Performance Studio Package additions.
