Mercedes Benz CLA Models and CLA History
When Mercedes-Benz envisioned a new small, entry-level premium car for the United States market, the German auto brand chose to create an ultra-sleek four-door. The Mercedes-Benz CLA made its first appearance for the 2014 model year. Borrowing the four-door coupe exterior design inspiration of the CLS-Class, the CLA presents itself as a sporty compact delivering the essence of higher-end Mercedes-Benz models. In the United States, the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class line utilizes the power of turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines set at different output levels. Offered as a front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive model, the CLA250 features a 208-horsepower engine. An AMG version of the CLA-Class is propelled by a handcrafted engine generating 355 horsepower. Standard equipped with 4Matic all-wheel drive, the Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG feature unique bodywork and high-performance braking. For 2016, the performance for the CLA45 AMG was increased to 375 horsepower. For 2017, the CLA-Class receives a minor front and rear styling update as well as interior trim alterations.
