MINI Hardtop 4 Door Models and Hardtop 4 Door History
Starting in 2015, MINI customers were provided with an all-new body style choice through the long-running hardtop line. Built on a vehicle platform recently introduced with the two-door hardtop model, the MINI Hardtop 4 Door model immediately asserted itself as an even more efficient premium compact design. Along with the additional two rear passenger doors, the Hardtop 4 Door was 6.3 inches longer in overall length than its two-door MINI counterpart resulting in greater cabin room. Offered in Cooper and Cooper S trim levels, the MINI Hardtop 4 Door featured standard Electronic Differential Lock Control, alloy wheels and Bluetooth connectivity. For all Hardtop 4 Door models, MINI TwinPower Turbo engine family supplied propulsion with the Cooper receiving a 134-horsepower three-cylinder powerplant while a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generating 189 horsepower was found in the Cooper S. For 2017, a special edition MINI Seven version of the four-door hatchback was adorned by many exclusive interior and exterior touches such as a Lapisluxury Blue body color. All MINI products are equipped with rearview camera and Rear Park Distance Control starting in the 2018 model year.
