New and Used Hardtop 2 Door Prices, MINI Hardtop 2 Door Model Years and History
The classic body style of MINI's automotive legacy, the hardtop two-door compact car was the first vehicle to appear when the brand gained a modern relaunch for the 2002 model year. A combination of German engineering and styling based on the British original, the MINI Hardtop 2 Door promoted practicality within a premium sector. Receiving a third generation redesign for the 2014 model year, the compact hatchback was based on a longer, wider stature translating to increased interior space. The Hardtop 2 Door also debuted with a new MINI TwinPower Turbo engine family. Introduced with a Cooper and Cooper S trim level, the MINI Hardtop 2 Door gained a performance-oriented John Cooper Works version for 2016. Propelled by a 228-horsepower turbocharged engine, the MINI Hardtop 2 Door John Cooper Works model could accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.9 seconds and incorporated Brembo brakes, standard 17-inch light alloy wheels and finely crafted sport interior. For 2017, a MINI Seven special edition celebrating the brand's heritage with an exclusive custom look was offered with Cooper and Cooper S versions of the Hardtop 2 Door. For 2018, all MINI Hardtop 2 Door models will be equipped with a rearview camera and Rear Park Distance Control.
