In 2006, the long awaited Lotus Exige arrived in the U.S., boasting a desirable hard top version of the popular Lotus Elise. If offered the same design, features and functions, and was powered by a 1.8-liter Inline four-cylinder engine that was rated at 190 horsepower. In 2007, Lotus added the Exige S to the fleet, flaunting a supercharged version of their popular compact roadster. It featured 30 more horsepower and 27 more pound-feet of torque, offering 220 horsepower overall and 165 pound-feet of torque. In 2008, Lotus discontinued the base model and introduced the more capable Exige S, which offered 240 horsepower. A new gauge cluster was introduced during this model year, too, as was a new trip computer. The only notable change for the 2009 model year was the discontinuation of the Exige S, replaced by the S 260. The Exige S 260 would be discontinued in 2010, with the S 240 being the remaining trim level. It featured a newly redesigned front side and a more enhanced rear wing. Ohlins dampers debuted on this model, offered in the Track Pack package.
