The LX 470 hit dealerships in 2000 with a few changes. They included a new BrakeAssist and Vehicle Stability Control system being offered as standard features, in addition to running boards that were illuminated and a stylish moon roof. The 2001 model offered the desirable DVD-based navigation system, and an optional Mark Levinson audio system. New anti-theft locks were integrated and child seat tether anchors were added (in the second row). Two new body colors were also introduced: Blue Vapor Metallic and Mystic Sea Opalescent. The only update for the 2002 model year was that the navigation system was added as a standard feature. In 2003, Lexus made some significant changes to the LX 470. The carmaker restyled the lights (front and back), introduced a new bumper and grille, and made 18 alloy wheels standard. Safety features were also upgraded, including air bags (front, side and rear). Rear passenger audio controls were added and the Lexus Link was also integrated. Horsepower increased by five, and an optional entertainment system was offered. The only changes for 2004 were the additions of the backup camera and Bluetooth integration. In 2005, Lexus added the option for satellite radio. The LX 470 careened into 2006 with more horsepower, thanks to the new timing system on the V8 engine; it now was able to produce 275 horsepower, an increase of 40. A tire-pressure monitoring system was also added, and an optional 11-speaker premium sound system was made available. Updated LED head and tail lights were introduced, as were restyled 18 alloy wheels. For 2007, the only change to note was a slight decrease in horsepower due to new testing procedures and EPA standards.
