Lexus LS 430 Models and LS 430 History

The flagship Lexus LS 430 entered the 2001 model year with a brand new design and a ULEV compliant 4.3-liter V8 engine that could churn out 290 horsepower. It also boasted a roomier cabin, a revamped style on the interior and exterior and a plethora of new options, trim levels and packages. No major changes were in store for 2002, but 2003 saw larger 17 wheels added, the addition of climate control, parking assist and several new packages and interior trims. For 2004, many features were made standard, like adaptive headlights, moonroof and even airbags for the knees. Added options for this model year included a collision warning system, air suspension, remote start, 18 wheels, and a variety of optional interior additions that buyers could consider. No changes were made for 2005. But in 2006, Lexus updated the engine to meet SAE standards, which ended up decreasing the overall horsepower by a small margin.
