In 2007, Lexus unveiled the first-ever hybrid luxury sedan in the U.S. that also doubled as a sports car. It boasted a supped up 3.5-liter V6 engine that produced 340 horsepower. The car also was complemented by signature styling and an array of features and amenities as well as various optional add-ons. In 2008, Lexus made some minor exterior updates that included new fascias, turn signals were now also integrated on the side mirrors, and various trim updates were made. A new color, Black Opal Mica, was also introduced. The 2009 GS 450h got a larger trunk, increasing the capacity to 11 cubic feet. In 2010, Lexus added a new technology package, and made some minor updates to the exterior body style, including a new grille, larger 18 alloy wheels and new covers for the taillights. Model years 2011 and 2012 saw no major changes. In 2013, Lexus introduced a completely redesigned 450h.
