Designed by Gerry McGovern, a key principal behind the attention-grabbing Range Rover Evoque, the Land Rover Discovery Sport exercises a similar adhesion to modernized crossover vehicle shaping that continues to advertise luxury motoring for almost any terrain. Introduced for 2015, the Land Rover Discovery Sport became the latest entrant in a crowded premium crossover segment. Powered by a 240-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter engine mated with a nine-speed automatic transmission, the sport utility operates efficiently through four-wheel drive. Available with what Land Rover classifies as 5+2 seating, third-row seating is designed for occasional use. When not in use, the third seating row can be folded flat into the cargo floor. For 2017, the Land Rover Discovery Sport gains an enhanced 10.3-inch in-car infotainment system featuring the first-of-its-kind integration of Tile Bluetooth tracking technology. A Dynamic Design Pack will also be available on HSE and HSE LUX trim levels of the 2017 Discovery Sport adding specialized, high-end exterior as well as interior details. A diesel engine option in North America is rumored for a future Discovery Sport.
