Competing squarely in the large-scale luxury utility vehicle market of the Cadillac Escalade as well as Lincoln Navigator, the Infiniti QX56 immediately promoted dynamic power alongside elegance inside and out. Introduced in 2004 based on Nissan's all-new full-sized truck frame, the QX56 allowed up to eight passengers to ride inside a cabin upholstered with Sojourner leather seating. DVD-based navigation system as well as a 10-speaker Bose audio system stood out as high-end touches found standard on the Infiniti QX56. Powering the luxury sport utility vehicle, a 315-horsepower 5.6-liter V-8 engine would be paired with rear-wheel or all-wheel drivetrain. For 2008, the Infiniti QX56 underwent a significant redesign consisting of a new front and rear styling, new 20-inch chrome wheels and a Burr-Brown audio system with a 9.5-gigabyte Music Box hard drive. Drastically updated in 2011, an all-new QX56 received a bolder exterior, more efficient 400-horsepower direct injected V-8 engine and enhanced standard equipment. Starting in 2014, the QX56 was rebranded as the Infiniti QX80. Produced from 2004 to 2013, the QX56 moniker's length of use by the Infiniti luxury brand is second only to Q45.
