A V-12 engine, an acknowledged hallmark of Ferrari sports cars, served as the power unit for the 599. An aluminum 6.0-liter twelve-cylinder engine was one of the most powerful naturally aspirated powerplants ever installed in a production vehicle. Generating 612 horsepower and 448 pound-feet of torque, the gasoline engine for the 2007 Ferrari 599 Fiorano channeled power through a six-speed manual transmission. One year following the Ferrari 599s introduction, a number of enhancements were added to the twelve-cylinder supercar. An F1-SuperFast transmission option was added to the 2008 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano line-up delivering rapid paddle shifting in 40 milliseconds. Also for 2008, the previously optional carbon-ceramic brakes were promoted to standard equipment on the 599 GTB Fiorano.
Capable of traveling up to 205 miles per hour, the 599 GTB Fiorano can achieve acceleration from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds. Inside the two-passenger interior of the 599 GTB Fiorano, a multitude of high-end handcrafted touches accent the cabin. Leather sport seating as well as interior panels constructed of aluminum and carbon fiber gave the flagship Ferrari a heavy dose of personality. Ferrari also offered many options for owners to individualize the 599 GTB Fiorano. After the 2010 model year, the F12berlinetta replaced the 599 GTB Fiorano.
