The LaCrosse sedan debuted in 2005 as a new beginning for the Buick brands mid-sized car. Abandoning the familiar Regal and Century nameplates, the Buick four-door was targeted to attract a younger driving crowd. For the CX and CXL models, a 3.8-liter Series III V-6 engine propelled the sedan with 200 horsepower. Additional performance from a 240-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 came standard on the LaCrosse CXS. Employing a QuietTuning approach to minimizing undesired noise, the interior included a standard six-speaker stereo system with CD player, power windows and a power driver seat.
