The SQ5 is Audi’s first crossover vehicle to receive the attention of the German luxury brand’s S engineering. Based on the Q5 crossover, the Audi SQ5 was introduced during the 2014 model year. While a TDI diesel engine powered the European market version of the SQ5, Audi opted to use a gasoline-fuelled 3.0 TFSI powerplant. The 354-horsepower engine working in partnership with an eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission and a high-performance quattro all-wheel drive system allows the Audi SQ5 to achieve 0 to 62 mile per hour acceleration times in 5.3 seconds.
In addition to the performance, the Audi SQ5 stands out thanks to unique exterior styling touches such as a standard 20-inch alloy wheels. The suspension of the 2014 Audi SQ5 is also lowered for a more stable sport stance. A combination of leather, Alcantara and aluminum is found inside the SQ5’s cabin projecting performance as well as luxury car attitude. The 2014 Audi SQ5 is offered in Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels.
