The first generation Aston Martin DBS appeared in 1967 as an intended replacement to the DB6. Appearing as a fastback with squarer proportions than previous Aston Martin models, the 1960s DBS was initially powered by a 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine before it was upgraded with a V-8 powerplant in 1970. Reintroduced in 2007, the Aston Martin DBS took a position of being the sports car builder's flagship thanks to a 510-horsepower V-12 engine. The new DBS' power was matched by high-end ride control with the inclusion of an Adaptive Damping System and ventilated carbon ceramic disc brakes. Originally available only as a coupe, the DBS line-up expanded with the inclusion of the Volante convertible in North American for 2010. Both generations of the Aston Martin DBS have participated in James Bond movies. The former version appeared in On Her Majesty's Secret Service while the latter vehicle was used in Casino Royale.
