2019 BMW 2 Series Reviews and Ratings

My BMW 230 convertible is the third BMW in our family in two years. (My wife's first BMW was totaled by a semi.) She loves her 330 i, and if it's possible, I love my 230 i even more. I moved from driving Mazda Miata's after a decade, and the 230 i convertible is even more fun with room for (barely) four people. Excellent handling, fun to drive, and totally reliable.

My first concern for a new car was that it fit in my tiny garage, so I was limited to small cars. After that, it was performance: handling, acceleration, braking, and stability. I tested several other vehicles, and nothing came close to this BMW 230ix. While there are other fine cars that handle as though they were pressed onto the road (good), this one handles as though it were gripping the road (better). The acceleration is thrilling, the braking sure, and the visibility is excellent. Fit and finish, both exterior and interior, are superb. The various electronic driving aids work effortlessly; they are well thought-out so you don’t need to think about them. It even gets better gas mileage than I was expecting. Overall, I am extremely pleased.
