2016 model year changes
After a major redesign last year, the Golf gets only evolutionary changes for 2016. A new, updated stereo system runs on improved software, offering more connectivity and smartphone integration. The Driver Assistance Package has also seen significant updates, with new features such as adaptive cruise control and a forward collision warning system. In addition, S models now come standard with a backup camera.

Special features for 2016
Few cars have the staying power or instant recognition of the Volkswagen Golf, and the all-new Golf picks up right where its predecessor left off -- with even more to like. As a leader in the busy hatchback segment, the Golf is loaded with standard features, excellent ergonomics and plenty of practical space for passengers and cargo. Turbocharged power gives the Golf 1.8T plenty of pep. The GTI is a perennially lauded "hot hatch," is tremendously fun to drive and starts at just around $25,000.
The Volkswagen Golf comes in either two or four-door versions with seating for four and plenty of standard features. Base trim level outfitting includes: two-door body, 15” steel wheels, heated and powered side mirrors, tilt and telescope steering wheel, 60/40 split and fold rear seating, Bluetooth/iPod/USB integration and 5.8-inch touchscreen with basic audio system and satellite radio. Upgrades can add a lot of features, including: (up to) 18” alloy wheels, VW's Car-Net emergency telematics system, powered and heated front seating, sunroof, four-doors, automatic transmission, fog lamps, automated wipers, parking camera, Fender audio system, GPS, remote entry/start, two-zone climate control, turbo-diesel engine, LED daytime running lights, bi-xenon headlamps, LED reading lights, collision mitigation system and more. Powering the Golf is an upgradable and turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that gets 170 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque.
