Two major new car introduction revolves around two sub-brands created by the German automaker, Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Maybach. A replacement to the SLS AMG supercar, the 456-horsepower 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT and 503-horsepower Mercedes-AMG GT S present a new source for envied high-performance. Reviving the Maybach name as a component of their main brand rather than a separate marque, the result for 2016 is a high-luxury version of the S-Class. The 2016 Mercedes-Maybach S600 boasts super-exclusive interior comfort and technologies as part of rear passenger-oriented riding experience.

 

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class line-up also adds a plug-in hybrid model called the S550e for 2016 as well as an open-air Cabriolet. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz SLK roadster line replaces the SLK250 with a more powerful SLK300 model powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. There will be no manual-equipped versions of the 2016 SLK range on dealership lots. Mercedes-Benz's crossover and luxury utility line is undergoing some major adjustments. There is the addition of the new GLC and GLE Coupe for 2016 while the long-running M-Class is now rebranded the GLE-Class. A new plug-in hybrid 2016 GLE550e claims to be able to travel more than 18 miles on an electric battery charge. Mercedes-Benz's least-compromised off-road utility luxury vehicle, the G-Class, receives new power for 2016 including 621-horsepower of an all-new G65 AMG model.

 

An auto brand associated with luxury cars in the United States, Mercedes-Benz has demonstrated their globally renowned commercial vehicle prowess with the Sprinter for years stateside. For 2016, a smaller Mercedes-Benz commercial van called the Metris increases their work vehicle portfolio in North America. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz vehicle line-up will feature the increased utilization of a nine-speed automatic transmission as models of the CLS and SLK have become new recipients.
