A premium crossover vehicle, the 2015 Volvo XC60 provides five-passenger comfort and cargo capacity up to 67.4 cubic feet. A high technology Drive-E turbocharged 2.0 liter, four-cylinder engine replaces the previous six-cylinder with equal horsepower but much improved fuel economy. Fuel efficiency for the 2015 Volvo XC60 equipped with the 240-horsepower Drive-E four-cylinder engine provides up to 22 miles per gallon city and 30 miles per gallon highway. With the Drive-E engine offered only on the front-wheel drive models of the 2015 Volvo XC60, all-wheel drive models will continue to be powered by a naturally aspirated 3.2 liter six-cylinder as well as by a turbocharged six-cylinder engine. The 2015 Volvo XC60 receives up to 325 horsepower with engine provided on the T6 R-Design. All models of the Volvo XC60 are powered by a six-speed automatic transmission. Standard on all 2015 Volvo XC60 crossover vehicles is brake energy regeneration, electric climate control, power driver’s seat with memory and a 40/20/20 split rear seat row. Offered in Premier, Premier Plus and Platinum trim packages, upgraded 2015 Volvo XC60 models include leather seating, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a laminated panoramic roof with power sunshade. Traction control, anti-lock braking system, LED daytime running lights as well as front, side and side curtain airbags provide a high layer of protection in reacting to or avoiding an accident.
2015 model year changes
The Volvo XC60 was significantly updated for 2014. For 2015, more changes follow, including two new 2.0L 4-cylinder engines. In the XC60 T5 Drive-E model, the engine is turbocharged and produces 240 horsepower and 258 ft-lb. of torque. In the XC60 T6 Drive-E, the new powerplant is both turbocharged and supercharged, producing 302 horsepower and 295 ft-lb of torque. Both engines are mated to a new 8-speed Geartronic automatic transmission and both benefit from new Start/Stop technology. In the T5, the new engine is EPA-rated at 24 mpg city and 31 mpg on the highway. In the T6, the figures dip to 22 mpg / 30 mpg. Across the lineup, Premier Plus trim adds power retractable outside mirrors.
