2015 model year changes

The Volkswagen GTI enters into its 7th generation in 2015. The new GTI is bigger and more powerful than the outgoing car, promising both a faster and a more comfortable driving experience. Despite the increase in size, the new GTI is actually more than 80 lbs. lighter than the previous car, a development that aids both acceleration and fuel economy. Styling wise, the car looks somewhat similar to its predecessor, but gives the impression of being sleeker, sharper and lower.

Special features for 2015

The GTI is often credited with having started the "hot hatch" movement in early 80's. The idea was to create a car that offered all of the fun of a sports car in a much more practical package. The new GTI continues this tradition, by offering customers a car that relishes being driven hard on a back road, but still has enough space to carry surprising amounts of stuff; all while being easy to park in the city and getting good gas mileage. Pricing starts at less than $25,000.
Classiness meets practicality with the sixth-gen Volkswagen GTI. Only available as a four-door model this year, and only offered in three colors (gray, black and white), it’s still just as attractive as prior year models. The GTI is the sport-tuned version of Volkswagen’s immensely popular Golf. This five-passenger hatchback fits the bill for sportiness married to stylishness, and comes in two trim levels: Wolfsburg Edition and Driver’s Edition. The base model includes power accessories, 18” alloy wheels, heated mirrors, roof spoiler, fog lights, heated front seats, signature plaid interior upholstery, Bluetooth connectivity and eight-speaker premium sound system. The popular Driver’s Edition includes quality upgrades like xenon headlights (adaptive), eye-turning LED running lights, powered sunroof, sportier seats and a touchscreen GPS system. A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine offers some serious off-the-line clout, and makes 200 horsepower with 207 pound-feet of torque, getting 25 mpg combined. You can add a few more years onto the standard 36-month/36,000-mile warranty for enhanced peace of mind.
