Special features for 2015
The Cayman is Porsche's entry-level sports coupe. It slots below the 911 and slightly above the convertible Boxster, on which the Cayman is based. It competes with other sports cars in the $60,000 range such as the BMW Z4 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class convertible. While the Cayman may not have the absolute horsepower of some of its rivals, it can generally match them in performance thanks to a lightweight body, exceptional mid-engine chassis dynamics, and plenty of engineering know-how. Unlike many of its competitors, the Cayman is also an extremely refined vehicle and as such, it's easy to live with day-to-day. The Cayman's high level of quality and Porsche's signature precision are what really set the car apart.
A new electric-assist power steering system graces the Porsche Cayman, helping drivers effortlessly navigate busy roads at top speeds while taking strong corners. This roadster is offered in two trim levels: Base and S. Standard equipment includes: 18” wheels, summer touring tires, power accessories, a 7” infotainment touchscreen command console with Bluetooth connectivity, rear spoiler that automatically extends and retracts, powered front seats and premium Spartan four-speaker sound system. Upgrade to the S trim and get a larger engine, 19” wheels, bi-xenon headlamps, sportier and bigger front brakes with red calipers, and chromed dual exhaust. Other notable add-ons include things like the Infotainment package, which adds a GPS unit with a hard drive, Aha radio integration and application, remote start, dual-zone and automatic climate control, heated front seats and even driving data analysis, as well as a premium 10-speaker Bose audio system. With the base model, you’ll get a beefy 2.7-liter flat-6 engine that pushes 275 horsepower at 213 pound-feet of torque. Upgrade to the S trim to get a faster 3.4-liter flat-6 engine that delivers 325 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The Cayman comes with a 48-month/50,000-mile warranty that can be upgraded to a longer term for added coverage.
