2015 model year changes
For 2015, Mercedes has downsized a couple of their engine options in hopes of increasing fuel economy. The BlueTec Diesel offering is now a 2.1L 4-cylinder and the V8-powered ML550 now features a turbocharged V6 and has been redubbed the ML400.
Strong, smooth powertrains; good fuel-efficiency among sport utilities; world-class safety technology; comfortable seating for five adults; plush luxury feel; quiet cabins
Special features for 2015
The 2015 Mercedes-Benz M-Class is one of the most refined, most comfortable, and safest luxury SUVs available. It's also surprisingly fuel-efficient -- especially in ML250 BlueTEC diesel guise. The M-Class' interior has much-improved materials and detailing compared to the previous version, and it's now one of the most lavish cabins in its class. An off-road package for several different modes of trail driving is available and allows for ground clearance of up to 11.2 inches and a water-fording depth of 23.6 inches. The package also includes a locking center differential and a 2-speed transfer case.
The five-passenger M-Class by Mercedes-Benz is a midsized crossover SUV that comes in several trims: ML350, ML350 Bluetec, ML550 and ML63 AMG. The base model has plenty to offer and is outfitted with LED running lights, LED tail lights, powered liftgate, 19” alloy wheels, two-zone climate control (automated), interior wood trim accents, powered and heated front seats, faux leather seating, COMMAND interface, Bluetooth/iPod/USB integration and an eight-speaker audio system. Expand your driving experience by upgrading your trim or adding a package on, and you’ll get things like: 19” or 20” wheels, running boards, backup camera, folding and powered side mirrors, 115-volt power outlet, bi-xenon headlights, collision detection system with lane departure warnings and blind-spot monitoring, air suspension, premium leather seating, parking assistance system, signature AMG flares and paint with signature AMG 21” wheels, panoramic sunroof, remote entry/start and a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen surround sound system. Four engines are available, determined by your selected trim level. These include: a 3.5-liter V6 engine that offers 302 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque; a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine that makes 240 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque; an impressive 4.7-liter turbocharged V8 that cranks out 402 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque; or an uncanny 5.5-liter turbo V8 that punches at 518 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The M-Class comes with a four-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.
