The Tucson has a lot going for it when matched up against the competition. With either available direct-injected engine, the Tucson has some of the highest combined and highway fuel economy ratings in its class. The Tucson has a longer wheelbase than its rivals yet has one of the shortest turning diameters, which keeps it settled and stable on the open road but also maneuverable in tight spaces. Hyundai also notes that there is more interior space than in some vehicles a class larger, while rear-seat legroom is class-leading.
The Hyundai Tucson is a compact crossover SUV that seats five passengers with ample room for storage, offered in three trims: GLS, SE and Limited. The base model is equipped with 17” alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, LED running lights, a vanity spoiler in the rear, cloth seating, powered accessories, 60/40-split-folding rear bench, Bluetooth/iPod/USB connectivity and a six-speaker audio system. Upgrade to a higher trim level to get convenient add-ons like a larger engine, 18” wheels, fog lights, heated and powered side mirrors, roof rails, powered front seats, a 7” touchscreen console, leather seating, chrome accents, rear A/C vents, remote entry/start, two-zone automatic climate control and integrated GPS. The Tucson is powered by a 2.0-liter Inline four-cylinder engine that offers 164 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. The upgraded trim features a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that’s rated at 182 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. Hyundai offers a five-year/60,000-mile limited warranty on this SUV.
