The 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV is offered in a handful of states as an all-electric subcompact vehicle. Based on the same platform and appearing similar to the gasoline-powered Chevrolet Spark, the 2015 Spark EV is powered by a permanent magnet electric motor. Generating 105-kilowatts (the equivalent of 140 horsepower), the electric powerplant of the 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV also presents a very robust 400 pound-feet of torque. Capable of a top speed of 90 miles per hour, the 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV has an EPA-rated driving range averaging 82 miles. Storing energy in a lithium-ion battery pack, charging of the 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV can be performed using a 120-volt outlet, 240-volt outlet or an optional DC Fast Charge outlet that can replenish 80 percent of the vehicle’s charge in just 20 minutes.
