Special features for 2015
From a design standpoint, the Audi A7 is a standout in the market; while competitors such as the Acura ZDX and BMW 5-Series GranTurismo come close, the A7 is the least "SUV" in this segment. Inside, the A7 is a paragon of great design, as its cabin feels lush and detailed without being functionally complex. Even so, the A7 is very roomy, with enough space for adults in back. Technologically, the A7 is also near the head of its class. The Google Earth mapping with live updates feels a full generation ahead of the systems in many rival models; and the MMI touch system--bringing a fingertip scratch pad that allows data entry without looking away from the road or focusing on a screen-based pointer--is also revolutionary.
Audi seems to be the game-changer in fast cars these days. They lead the pack with engines that can even boast dual-turbochargers. The 2014 Audi S7 offers a superstar, supercharged V8 engine that delivers 420 horses with 406 pound-feet of torque that is sent to the all-wheel drive. It’s fast. It’s nimble. And it will cost you nearly $20,000 more than last year’s model. The seven-speed automatic/manual transmission (S tronic) will deliver much driving joy, especially on the air suspension system and 20” wheels. The Audi Pre-Sense system will help you avoid accidents with warnings, and can even close the windows, make your seatbelts tighter and apply pressure to the brake pedal. The beautiful interior is an expected standard with Audi, and the Multi Media Interface (MMI) offers a touch screen and master control panel with all the bells and whistles. For the wagoner lover, or even the crossover and sedan aficionado, this hatchback is roomy, and boasts 24.5 cubic feet in the truck. Drop the back seats down and you get even more. An in-between car, this hatcher is slick, rambunctious and fast on its feet. Then again, it is an Audi.
