Special features for 2014
The small crossover segment is a crowded one, and the Mazda CX-5 sets itself apart thanks both to its attractive styling and its efficient technologies. The company's SKYACTIV-G engines and transmissions have been designed from the ground up to deliver typical Mazda sporting performance, while also maximizing fuel and mechanical efficiency The Mazda CX-5 (along with the popular Mazda3) is the first vehicle to showcase this new philosophy. With room for five adults, a sport-tuned suspension, impressive ratings of 26 mpg city and 35 mpg highway fuel economy and loads of available comfort and convenience technologies, the Mazda CX-5 is a great alternative to the rest of the crossover field.
Now equipped with an additional engine, the 2014 Mazda CX-5 is a compact SUV powered by a SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that yields 155 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. Touring and Grand Touring trim levels are now fitted with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 184 hp. The standard Sport trim level is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission while the Touring and Grand Touring trims are outfitted with a 6-speed sport automatic transmission. Standard FWD and optional AWD enable the CX-5 to achieve an EPA estimated range of 25 mpg city to 35 mpg highway. Features include Bluetooth® hands-free phone capabilities, HD radio, TomTom® navigation, USB connectivity, push button start, Bose® premium sound, and navigation. Safety is comprised of advanced airbags, dynamic stability control (DSC), traction control system (TCS), anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), and brake assist. The CX-5 is backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
